The Department’s  Every school day matters campaign highlights the importance of regular school attendance.

It’s so important that our students are actively participating in their learning. We know that regular school attendance supports improved student outcomes.

Note that all absences should be explained and absences longer than a few days should be discussed with the school. If several days absence is due to illness a medical certificate may be required.
