Principal's Report
As our school, our participation numbers in sport and recreation activities has continued to grow. It is exciting to see a large number of our students stepping in to school sports with a real ‘have a go attitude’ and enjoying the company of their friends and opponents. This week I was able to enjoy school netball, football and the mountain bike titles at Riverside. On each occasion, I was impressed by the way that our Penguin students conducted themselves and the support that they had from parents and staff. School sport has never been about crossing the line first, kicking the most goals or beating the opposition, but it can be a platform where many students learn about friendships, resilience, problem solving and having fun in a setting that is safe and supported by staff and parents.
School Redevelopment
Next week we will be taking over stage two of our redevelopment. Our new library will be our temporary grade 10 area and music area and will require the high levels of care and respect from students that we expect from any other area of our school. Seeing this level of finish is exciting as we can now visualise how this will drastically transform all of our teaching and learning areas in to the future.
