Year 9 and 10 Metalwork Class
On Wednesday 5th May, the Year 9 and 10 Metalwork class were visited by Kim Butler from the Tasmanian Minerals, Manufacturing and Energy Council.
Kim’s visit was to speak about future pathway possibilities in the advanced manufacturing industries that makes up the TMEC group.
She provided 5 virtual welding simulators for the students to use and test their technique in the welding disciplines of Mig, Tig and Arc.
A small competition developed, as to who could score the highest on their weld. Congratulations to Jobie R for his highest score in the weld off at the end of the class.
We’d like to thank Kim and TMEC for providing the opportunity for us to learn some more about future job pathways and also to import everything our welding
techniques. It was good fun.
