Railway Art Exhibition
Last Wednesday saw the opening of the inaugural PDS Railway Art Exhibition. This was an initiative of the Arts Collaborative Teaching Team on the Secondary Campus. The exhibition showcased selected visual art works from over 20 students, as well as, live musical performances from a further 6 students. Exhibiting students, and their families, were invited to the opening on Wednesday night and the exhibition was open to the public on the Thursday with barista coffee also being on sale from the PDS Railway Café serviced by some of our PDS barista students.
A Visual Art competition was run in conjunction with the Railway Art Exhibition – ‘The Railway Prize’. This has been generously supported by OfficeMax / Winc Australia Pty Limited. There were 4 students who were shortlisted and made it through to the final exhibition – Molly P, Stephanie S, Ellie R and Molly D. This year’s winner of the ‘Railway Prize’ was Molly P. She has chosen a set specialist of artist pencils valued at over $100 as her prize. Thanks again to the generous donation from OfficeMax / Winc Australia Pty Limited. Well done to Molly and thanks to all who entered the competition and to all who came and viewed the Railway Art Exhibition.
