Year 3-6 Dance Fever
On Tuesday 29 June, the Year 3-6 students travelled to the Ulverstone Basketball Stadium to show off their dancing skills. The Interschool Challenge was a culminating performance of dances that the students had been learning and practicing over the last term. We were joined on the day by students from Forth Primary and East Ulverstone Primary as part of our Six School Partnership.
Dances included the Samba and Waltz. Year levels danced against similar year levels. Following a dance-off and final, judges had the difficult task of awarding sashes for first, second and third places. Across the day, students displayed respectful audience behaviours and gave their personal best at all times when they had the opportunity to dance.
Students were treated to a performance by their ‘expert’ dance teachers who showed us off some of their skills and smooth moves.
The much anticipated school challenge saw our 3-6 students dance together in their Harry Potter themed, choreographed dance. All the hard work paid off with the group coming together for an outstanding final performance.
Highlights taken from student comments included: loving the music, showing off our dance at the end, seeing the other schools’ performances and ‘everything’!
