2P Wonder Walk
Adventures with 2P
“I wonder what we will find on our Wonder Walk today …”
2P has continued to learn about the wonderful world of Penguin this Term as we have explored the community during our Weekly Wonder Walks (weather permitting!).
We have discovered many loose parts and treasures that have been left behind by nature or by people as they have travelled from here to there.
Rocks, sticks, leaves, seeds pods, beach glass, the remains of life, and shells have inspired much wonder and playful moments.
However, we have also noticed a large number of ‘lost things’ alongside the roads, in the gutters, and on the beach. Objects of particular interest so have included: a chair frame, high heel, pair of scissors, thong, bolt, plastic and glass bottles, multiple packets and pieces of rubber. Many of these ‘unwanted things’ can cause “animals to get sick or die” if they are accidently eaten or trodden on. They are “hurting us and the animals” and “make our town unsafe”. We have noticed that “there is too much rubbish” because “people keep on littering!”. We love our community and want everyone to put their rubbish in the bin so that all living things can be safe. Please help us to keep our town beautiful by: “putting rubbish in the bin”, “taking it home with you if you don’t need it anymore”, “recycling it”, “reusing it to make something fun to use” or “saying no” to packaging.
