Kinder H Community Excursion
On Tuesday 21 September KH travelled on the school bus, driven by Mr Perry, to the Penguin Railway rooms.
From here we walked to the Penguin Police Station where we had planned to meet with Mr Crisp for a tour and a sit in his Police car.
Unfortunately Mr Crisp was called out to an emergency but we had a photo taken outside the station and talked about how fortunate we are to have Police Officers in our community to help keep us safe.
Next we walked to the Penguin Community Op Shop where we met with Mrs Wilson and gave her our hand painted shopping bags to sell in the shop.
She also talked about all the different items you can buy in the Op Shop, donations people can make and how the money is used in our Penguin Community. This was another great way to revisit our Inquiry learning on “Recycling” and to start our exploration on “People Who Help Us In Our Community”.
After a walk in the freezing weather, we enjoyed eating our morning tea in the Railway Rooms before a fun play in Hiscutt Park.
It was great to have another ride on the school bus back to Kinder.
A big “Thank You” to Mr Perry for driving us and to our helpers Mary, Laura, Amy, Elishia and Tina.
