A group of 23 students travelled down to Grange Resources – Savage River Mine on Tuesday. We were very fortunate to receive a personalised tour of the whole site and the students were impressed by the sheer size of the open mine, the equipment, and had the opportunity to see a live mine blast from the Northern pit from a monitor. Students were amazed that each truck was valued at over $4 million and the tyres alone cost $35,000 each! The students were given an opportunity to drive on the Truck simulator and experience how Grange train their drivers. Students were exposed to the various career opportunities and many were excited to explore these as potential pathways in the future.

It was a very productive day and we thank Grange Resources for allowing us onsite and hosting our trip.
