Assistant Principal's Report

5023.jpg

In the hustle and bustle of school days, there's a group of individuals who often work tirelessly behind the scenes, providing invaluable support and guidance to both teachers and students. These unsung heroes are our dedicated teacher assistants (TAs), and it's time we take a moment to appreciate the incredible impact they have on our educational journey.

TAs, are the backbone of many classrooms. They contribute in numerous ways; helping to create an environment conducive to effective teaching and learning, managing classroom logistics, providing one-on-one support to students, helping to maintain the classroom's rhythm and organization, preparing materials, setting up equipment, and managing administrative tasks, allowing teachers to focus more on delivering engaging lessons, just to name a few.

As we reflect on Teacher Assistant Appreciation Week, it's important to express our gratitude and appreciation. A simple "thank you" can go a long way in acknowledging their efforts and recognizing the impact they have on our educational community. Whether it's through a kind word, a thoughtful note, or a small gesture of appreciation, let's take the time to celebrate these unsung heroes who enrich our learning environment every day.

While we are expressing gratitude, I’d like to acknowledge the aspiring leaders emerging through our hard-working student board. On Thursday, we held the Wear Orange or Yellow for Daffodil Day Fundraiser. Members of the student board initiated, planned and delivered this fun day independently. It’s so pleasing to know that we have some students who are willing to take time out of their day to firstly, make fun activities for our students and secondly, to raise money for an exceptional charity ($500).

One more congratulations must be made to our year 5/6 students who this week presented their science experiments that they’ve worked tirelessly on for the past few weeks. They have shown great determination and perseverance, and our families were lucky enough to be invited in to see their work. We’ll look forward to the full report next week, including our winners.

Jenny Slater has worked hard with her art classes this term, creating art that reflects our Values. To be able to transfer the understanding of what a value is, into art, can not be underestimated. Here you’ll see birds, flying high, showing us that if we aspire, we can soar!

Before closing, I must take this opportunity to talk about road safety. We have had a number of community members approach the school, concerned about the way our students are moving (particularly on scooters), around our community. Can we please all take it upon ourselves, to be the village that helps to raise our young people together. we need to remind children to stay off the road when riding home from school wear their helmets and be respectful of pedestrians as well.

Yours in partnership

Jessie
