Principal's Report
As teachers, we love to celebrate the learning and achievements of our students as they provide us with the inspiration to continually reflect and grow our own teaching practice. This week, we have been sharing and celebrating the work of our teaching teams across the school. Our teaching staff are grouped in to Collaborative Teaching Teams based on either grade, or curriculum area. They come together each week to look in to our current approaches, student assessment data and information, and then develop collaborative inquiries to work towards their team goal. On Wednesday afternoon, these were showcased to their colleagues with great examples of ‘teachers working together as learners and researchers.’ We look forward to growing these practices across our school so that we are continuing to grow the skills and capacity of all of our staff.
Miss Maddison McCormack and Miss Abby Goninon have been through a process this year in working towards permanent teaching positions with the Department of Education Tasmania. I am pleased to announce that they were notified this week that they had met the requirements to be granted permanency with the Department of Education. On behalf of our school community we wish them well for a successful career in the teaching profession.
We have a number of new staff that will be joining us next year. I’d like to welcome Matthew Smart who will be joining us in a leadership position at the secondary campus and to Jenna Langham and Kylie Mudford who will be teaching at the primary campus, and to Jordan Taylor and Sarah Mott who will be teaching at the secondary campus. We will have a complete staffing list, including farewells in next week’s final newsletter.
