Assistant Principal's Report
As we hit the half-way point of Term 2, the weather has definitely taken a turn. We shouldn’t complain as we have had a lengthy run of amazing weather. With the colder weather comes the need for us to all rug up well. As a Tasmanian Government School we must have a uniform policy which is set by the School Association. We appreciate that there have been a range of challenges with our transition to our new uniform supplier. We will continue to work with families to keep students warm and in as much uniform as possible. Many items can be purchased from local retailers - for example long sleave navy blue under-shirts and long pants. Once again thanks to our AMAZING school community, which has helped each other in getting 2nd hand uniform items. Please be assured that Mr Perry is continuing to work closely with our uniform supplier to ensure the shortest possible wait for back order items. If you haven’t yet created yourself a ‘School Locker’ account lease do this. Remember you can have your online order items delivered to the school for free. The policy is reviewed annually by the School Association, if you have suggestions or wish to come to a meeting as an observer, please contact the school office.
Over the last few weeks, we have welcomed more new students to our growing school, we also welcomed a new furry friend – Wally the Wallaby. Wally decided to come into the admin area on Friday morning. Thankfully Mr Beard was on hand to help him on his way – he even used the children’s crossing when leaving via Ironcliff Road! Speaking of roads and car parks – a friendly reminder for all in our school community to continue to be driving safely and slowly in and around our school – particularly as the roads become wet.
Communicating with Families - Primary Students
As listed below in this newsletter, the Prep to 6 Communicating With Families meeting bookings are now open. This is an important opportunity to meeting with your child's teacher and discuss their learning.
Moderation Day - student free
Don't forget that this coming Friday our teaching staff will be on-site working with other schools to moderate student learning. This is a valuable, state-mandated professional activity.
