As the saying goes …the show must go on!  We are doing all we can to ensure the show not only goes on, but will be something the school community can be proud of.  As you would all be aware, Public Health advice and restrictions are continually being reviewed and we are working hard to meet all requirements to keep everyone safe. We can assure you that despite all of the current restrictions and changes, “Phantom of the Talent Factor” will definitely be going ahead.

We have considered a range of options to provide the time needed to prepare the show. Our current theatre booking and dates are Oct 19 – Nov 1, 2020.  We have requested dates later in the year (November/December) and are awaiting news on other bookings to allow for these changes. We have also made a booking for the theatre in February 2021 as a further backup plan. Whilst we acknowledge that some students will be moving to Year 11 next year, we have already communicated with Hellyer and Don College about our contingency plan in order for current Grade 10 students to participate in the production, and still access their learning. The impact on school time for Year 11 students will only be 1 week as the rest of the shows will be evening and weekend matinee shows. PDS students will be at the theatre for 2 weeks.

We are currently organising our rehearsal schedule for the end of Term 2 to meet all health and safety requirements and recommendations. These rehearsals will be held in school time in the last four weeks of term. A rehearsal schedule for Term 3 will be developed and sent out at the end of Term 2/beginning of Term 3. Families and students will be given plenty of notice around rehearsals for organisation. 

Our first order of t-shirts and hoodies has been delivered and they look fantastic. We will be putting in more orders throughout Term 2 and Term 3. If you would like to place an order please contact the school. T-shirts are $25 and hoodies $40, payment is required when ordering and can be made over the phone. These tops are optional.
