Principal's Report
The pace and predictability of life is an important way of managing our wellbeing. Knowing what we have ahead of us on a daily basis provides certainty and allows us to forward plan what our days/weeks may involve – everything from our after school activities and family holidays though to the quiet moments that we can find to rest and recharge. To say that it has been a challenging term for our community is an understatement, and we understand that individuals and families have been impacted in different ways. I still believe that as a local community, we have come through this period with many new learnings that will have us even better placed for future challenges.
Easing of Restrictions in Term 3
School principals have been involved in frequent video meetings with Department of Education leadership from the outset of COVID-19 so that schools have regular and current information, based on the advice from Public Health. Since last week’s newsletter below, parents are able to enter in to classrooms once again. This is an important and exciting step, as it means that important link can be strengthened. Having a child proudly sharing their learning in class with a parent/carer before school is one of the best connections that can be made. Please note, that we will provide a summary at the start of term 3 as it is highly likely that there will be updated advice from Public Health.
Most importantly, anyone that is unwell or has cold/flu symptoms must not enter the school building. For adults that are inside, please continue to exercise physical distancing with 1.5m the recommendation where practicable.
I hope that our students, families and staff can all find some time to relax and enjoy activities that support your wellbeing over the holidays. Just remember that we don’t need to travel too far to find plenty of rich opportunities that help us connect with ourselves, each other and our beautiful state. We look forward to seeing all of our current and new families at the beginning of term 3.
