Primary Sports Opportunities
Netball
There are two competitions that are taking registrations presently; Burnie Netball Association and Ulverstone Netball Association.
The Burnie Netball Association run a Spring Roster for students from Year 2 – 6 on a Saturday morning at the Burnie Netball Centre. Team Nominations are due in at 5pm 23/8/2019. All teams to have 9 players & 1 non playing coach & 2 umpires (at least one non playing umpire) for nominations to be accepted. Boys are welcome to play in the spring roster. Please see Miss Goninon (Secondary) or Mrs Van Essen (Primary) for the information letter with registration details.
The Ulverstone Netball Association run a skill development and roster for students from Kinder to Year 6 on a Thursday after school outside the Ulverstone Stadium. Notes are available from the table outside Mrs Van Essen’s office.
Soccer
Preliminary plans for a Spring Soccer skills and roster are being developed by Ulverstone Soccer Club. When details are provided, we will publish these through the school newsletter. Please visit the Ulverstone Soccer Club facebook page for more information.
Touch Football
Information has not been distributed as yet regarding the Devonport Touch Association Primary Schools Roster. This will be held in Term 4 and information will be shared as soon as it is provided. If you are willing to help out with coaching, please let me know.
Tennis
The courts located between the Dial Park complex and the Secondary Campus are available for use by all members of the Penguin community.
The Burnie Tennis Club provide a Hot Shots Tennis program each term for students from Kinder to Year 6. Information can be found at www.chandlertennis.com or flyers are outside Mrs Van Essen’s office.
