Year 10 Industry Visits
Interested students from Year 10 visited Simplot in Ulverstone on Thursday and Friday 15th and 16th August. The purpose of the visit was to investigate career pathways available in Simplot and its global business branches. Students were given a tour of the factory processing facility and were invovled in an informative discussion in the company's meeting room.
Students were shown the broad range of career pathways within Simplot and encouraged to consider options for themselves in relation to future possibilities.
A tour of the processing plant would not be complete without a sampling of the products. The visiting students and staff were happy to assist with taste testing and enjoyed their complementary packet of chips at the completion of the tour.
Our thanks go to Michael Wickham, from the Australian Manufacturers and Workers Union, for organising the Simplot visit and to Nigel Cowan and the helpful staff at Simplot who provided information and guided the tours.
