Nature Kinder B 2025

For the remainder of the year we are going to spend time in our local community, mostly exploring the beach and bush environments, on the Wednesdays we attend school. In the spaces we will walk, talk, observe, create, inquire and play.

Why:                           Having Kinder in local natural spaces will help children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment. We want them to feel a sense of belonging and comfort in these environments.

Times:                        We will leave school at approximately 9:15 am, eat recess in our space for the day before returning to school by 11:15 am at the latest.

Days:                          Nature Kinder will be held fortnightly on Wednesdays (weather dependent). Families will advised where we will be going via SeeSaw.

What to bring:           Appropriate shoes (runners or gumboots ), water bottle, jacket/raincoat, morning tea and lunch. Hats and sunscreen (school provided unless you wish to use your own) will also be required in Term 4, however students are welcome to wear their school hat throughout Terms 2 and 3 as well.

Communication:       As part of the enrolment process you have given consent for your child to participate in excursions.  If you wish to change your child’s current permissions or would like further information, please contact the school by phone or email. If we do not hear from you then the current permission arrangements will remain in place. Please advise the office of any changes to medical details.

Parent help:               If you wish to accompany us sometimes, a Working with Vulnerable People card is required. Please see the office for more information on obtaining one.

If you have not completed the safeguarding training – you will need to watch a 15 minute video prior to this event. The video can be viewed on the following link https://decyp-safeguarding.mygo1.com/ or this can be arranged when you arrive. This is compulsory for all people visiting a DEYCP site.

You will be able to support children in their experience and share the fun.
Please contact me if you would like to volunteer (once or more often). Adult helpers will need to sign in at school prior to 9:15 am so that they can come with us. Depending on how many people are interested in coming there may be room on the bus. Otherwise parents may need to take their own transport and meet us there.

Please note, we will not be entering any water during our walks.

For more information or to volunteer your time on one of our walks, please contact me via SeeSaw, via email olivia.bracken@decyp.tas.gov.au, or in person.
