Secondary Writing Symposium - Participating Students Only

An invite has been extended to a group of students from Penguin District School to attend a ‘Writing Symposium’. The event will be hosted by Hellyer College and will be facilitated by two published authors. The aim of the event is to expose students to the potential career pathways for writing and to generate greater awareness of the English courses available at Hellyer College. Your child has been selected as someone who demonstrates an interest or skill in creative writing.

This is a 2 day event that will involve working with authors, reading texts, and creating a series of short pieces.

Date:               Monday 1 December and Tuesday 2 December 2025

Time:              Depart PDS at 8:30am and return by 2.50 pm

Location:        UTAS Campus (West Park, Burnie)

Cost:               No cost

Food:              Lunch is provided

As part of the enrolment process you have given consent for your child to participate in excursions.  If you wish to change your child’s current permissions or would like further information, please contact the school by phone or email. If we do not hear from you then the current permission arrangements will remain in place. Please advise the office of any changes to medical details.
